Quality Oncology Readiness Activities

Quality Oncology Readiness Activities

We understand the challenges faced by the healthcare industry in meeting HIPAA compliance standards are considerable.  Further, we recognize that these issues extend beyond our internal operations and require active participation, communication and coordination with our customers and business partners.

To that end, we have completed a HIPAA Readiness Assessment and identified the impacts on our core operations and information systems.  We have established a project management structure and compliance approach that is aligned with our core business strategy.  In addition, we have initiated discussions with each of our customers to assess their efforts and developed a project calendar to align our resources appropriately.  Our overall efforts are organized in the following phases:

Phase I – Education and Awareness (Completed)

  • Readiness assessment of workflows, policies/procedures and information systems
  • Staff training on HIPAA and its requirements
  • Client outreach

Phase II – Project Planning (In progress)

  • Detailed work plan developed
  • Resources assigned
  • Joint QO/ Client project management
  • Continuing staff education and awareness

Phase III – Implementation (In progress)

  •  System testing
  • Policy and procedure revisions
  • Employee training on new policies
  • Corporate Security and Privacy program reviews
